Being diagnosed with breast cancer and requiring surgery, I was referred to Dr. Gabriel J. Kaufman at SPH Breast Care Center. I could not have had a more skilled, kind and caring breast surgeon than Dr. Kaufman. From my consultation through my follow-up visits, Dr. Kaufman earned my trust and admiration with his gentle, thoughtful manner. The Breast Care Center staff, Amanda, and Hanna, and the nurses and other surgical staff that I dealt with could not have been more kind and compassionate. I truly felt cared for. Dr. Kaufman and his staff made my breast cancer journey so much easier to navigate.

Dr Kaufman gave me back my confidence! He did a reconstruction for me and fixed some pretty severe deformities from two ruptured implants. I don’t need to be careful what I wear anymore-using ruffles or pattens on tops to hide the poor shape of my breasts. He did a beautiful job and took such care throughout the process to listen to my concerns and really work with me to find the best and safest solution. He takes great pride in his work and genuinely cares for his patients. I couldn’t recommend Dr Kaufman more!!

Dr. Kaufman was my breast reconstruction plastic surgeon. I am BRACA2+ and under went a prophylactic bilateral mastectomy. From day one he was very straight forward with me, expressing his knowledge of the possible complications that can arise with these types of surgeries, but was very supportive at the same time. I underwent the surgery and did end up having a slight complication due to the expander device. He was super attentive and took immediate action. Although it set me back slightly, we both agreed on my healing journey before trying reconstruction again. But afterwards, I ended up with an amazing outcome. I’m so glad I chose that office to get me through that part of my journey. The staff at St.Peters breast center is absolutely amazing, and Dr. Kaufman’s nurse practitioner Chelsea is the best! If I wasn’t able to get in with him, I would see her, and she is so knowledgeable! I have nothing but trust for both of them. They are all so attentive and friendly. Ide recommend him and the staff a 1000x over!

We have found Dr. Gabriel Kaufman to be a World Class physician and surgeon. Of great intellect and skill, and with superb expertise and experience, he is a remarkable doctor. Very competent and caring, he is wonderful. He removed all cancer from my wife (Grace Leno) during her breast surgery (lumpectomy). We hold him in the highest esteem. We would give him much more than 5 stars if the rating system allowed. We cannot thank him enough. Thank you Dr. Kaufman.

Dr. Kaufman is an excellent surgeon; he is professional, respectful and experienced. When I was first diagnosed with stage 2 breast cancer, my immediate concern was whether my oncologist team would take all my concerns seriously. Dr. Kaufman was actually my first contact with my oncology team and took all of my concerns extremely seriously. I left that long-anticipated appointment with relief- relief that I found the right surgeon, the right medical practice and would not have to search elsewhere. I had to complete five months of chemotherapy before Dr. Kaufman could perform my double mastectomy but just prior to surgery I came down with COVID. Dr. Kaufman was very honest with the risks of surgery. Reflecting on limited research, he told me that because of recently having COVID, my chance of having a stroke during the surgery increased. Also, my risk of having a stroke after surgery increased as well.
Alternatively, if he waited for that risk to go down, the cancer may begin to travel outside my breast. If that happened, all that chemo was for nothing. I left the decision to Dr. Kaufman and we went forward with the double mastectomy. During surgery it was discovered that the cancer had left my breast and began to travel. It spread to the closest lymph node ONLY. If we had waited for the stroke risk to decrease and Dr. Kaufman performed surgery at a later date, I would likely be stage 3 right now. Dr. Kaufman saved my life. I could not be more thankful!
As far as surgical talent, my "new" breasts look totally normal and I have received compliments from various medical professionals who were impressed with Dr. Kaufman's work. I will be bringing my son to Dr. Kaufman to remove a birthmark from his scalp. I trust his character and expertise. :)
